my daughter has been sick and took her to diff dr's and noone knows what wrong but sometimes like today she starts getting what looks like mucus under her neck?
she's 6 months old why would mucus come under her neck and in the fold of her. i bathe her regularly and it still happens. her neck and armpit are the worst and it kind of stinks. is it a fungus or what?Mucus under neck...is it comming out of the pores?
my son had this too...it is a yeast infection....the little folds of skin stay damp and moist....it does clear up....make sure first that you ar enot using frangrant soaps to bathe her, first try a clortramizole cream, for yeast, that should clear it up, but if it is stubborn like my son's was, try a zinc oxide cream, that did the trick for us! if these do not help, i would ask the doctor to swab a culture of it, and make sure that it is not a staph or mrsa infection, which would need some oral antibiotics to clear it up....not a big deal though, do not stress too much!!! my son's was so bad it was cracked and bleeding too, there is NO scar or anything now though, all healed up!
good luck!Mucus under neck...is it comming out of the pores?
This used to happen to my daughter alot. Its not mucus. Its formula (or breastmilk) and sweat pooling and getting yucky. It kind of has this sickening sweet smell to it. After every feed, wipe her neck and wipe her armpits with every diaper change. I did this with my son and he never had it. Good luck and im sorry that shes sick :( Hope she feels better soon!
No, it happens all the time. It's from formula getting into the folds of their necks, and since their heads are usually down most of the time, it gets yucky. It's normal, but if you're really that worried about it, go to a different pediatrician.
Baby's can get yeast infections in these areas. I don't know very much about the treatment though.
