Quartzite forms largely from sandstone. What has happened to the pore space of the original sandstone?

1. In what to ways is quartzite different from the rock form from which it has formed?

2. Marble is white. Why is some marble streaked with color?

3. Name the agents that cause metamorphism.

4. How do you know that scorria cools most rapidly?Quartzite forms largely from sandstone. What has happened to the pore space of the original sandstone?
1.Unlike sandstone, quartzite is incredibly hard, 7 on the Moh's hardness scale, and it is not porous, while sandstone is very porous.

2. These streaks of color are impurities or infiltrations in the parent rock, often clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, or chert.

3. Changes in heat, changes in pressure, and the addition of fluids, often water

4. I answered this one in your other question! :) Sorry it took me so long!

Hope this helps! :)
