well, I can give you some tips and a regimin that would be easy to follow. All you need is Witch Hazel (astringent) and a Mint Julep, or a Mud Pack masque.
Use the witch hazel every morning, let your skin fully absorb it before putting any makeup on. The witch hazel will soak into the pores and disolve any dirt and oil, while at the same time shrinking the pores.(apply to clean skin for best results)
Use a Mint Julep facial masque once or twice a week, as the masque dries it will pull out any impurities (black heads too!) and shrink the pores, this masque is best if you have oily skin.
If you have dry skin you might want to use a Mud Pack facial masque, this will work similar to the mint julep only it will have a more moisturizing effect.
You can get these products at any beauty supply store like Sally's for under $15.

I have an open pores...is there any product to minimize them?

I found that if I keep my skin clean, which means getting all the crap out of my enlarged pores, then they will shrink a bit.
Grab a good cleanser that is designed to clean out pores and then look for a pore minimising cream. There are lots out there so perhaps check with a good pharmacist or beautician or even at the beauty counter in a big department store who can recommend the right product for your skin type.
You don't want to dry out your skin while cleaning out your pores and alot of products strip the moisture out of your skin too much which causes more problems.

so i bought neutrogena's sesame body oil yesterday because someone told me that body oil on the skin works wonders (i want it mainly for my legs). but then doesn't oil block pores? i wanted to use it after i shower while my skin is damp then maybe after 30 minutes, use aveeno lotion. but do you think my skin would be able to absorb the lotion if i use the oil? do you think it's better to just stick with the lotion and drop the whole oil thing?Will sesame oil block pores?

I can if you do not apply right or put mosterizer on whenever applying fondation or power put a mosterizer underneath i would reccamond Proativ solutions mosterizer! i use it and i have perfectly clear skin and p.s dont apply power with a spong apply with blush brush lightly and start from checks outwards so you do not erritate ur skin byeebyez ttyl

Your thoughts are correct Chan 72 - Hot water makes your skin soft and will open pores. Cold water 'seals' the pores.
A suggestion, even in the shower, I've heard and adapted this method to prevent body sweat:
After a nice warm/hot shower (especially to your arm pits), rinse with cold water, as cold as you can take it, especially on your arm pits. I would recommend the Tea Tree Oil face mask or the Oat and Honey Mask. You don't have to use a lot like with some of the dept store brands, that's the other thing I like about the product here.

Have you ever heard of Noxema? It's cheap, and it's been around since your grandparent's had zits and large pores. There's a scrubbing formula to remove dirt from your pores, and when you use hot water with it, it expands it to get more dirt out. As soon as your done, splash COLD water on your face, and it will shrink your pores to normal size.

Use this and follow with a good moisturizer for oily skin. I use the clean and clear line. Skip the astringent it makes your face way to dry which will end up aggravating your skin even more. It wont happen over night but if you use it 2x's daily your skin will improve drastically. I stopped wearing make-up everyday because my skin was so much better. Hope this helps.

You can get an off brand which is cheaper, it is all made the same, I usually get the gentle ones. If you have ever used them, it feels like you are removing a layer of skin. Either uses the gentle ones or, after they dry put on a small amount of water to help in the peeling. You will see, it takes off hair and everything.What pore strips would you recommend to remove blackheads?
Stay away from those little strips of evil. They will do no good in the long run. Some of the blackheads will go but your skin will suffer for it. Best way to go about getting rid of blackheads... Go to a beautician and get a facial, afterward wash you face at night, use a scrub twice a week, a toner and a non-comedogenic water-based night moisturiser and NEVER put make-up on an un-moisturised face (day-moisturiser with SPF15 at the least)
If you are really set on using the strips then not more than a couple times a year and try to gently push out the occasional ones with your fingers (NOT your nails) or an extractor.
Biore has some really nice ones and on how to use them, make sure you get your face really wet, and dont take them off early also wash your face after use

You can get an off brand which is cheaper, it is all made the same, I usually get the gentle ones. If you have ever used them, it feels like you are removing a layer of skin. Either uses the gentle ones or, after they dry put on a small amount of water to help in the peeling. Stay away from those little strips of evil. They will do no good in the long run. Some of the blackheads will go but your skin will suffer for it. Best way to go about getting rid of blackheads... Go to a beautician and get a facial, afterward wash you face at night, use a scrub twice a week, a toner and a non-comedogenic water-based night moisturiser and NEVER put make-up on an un-moisturised face (day-moisturiser with SPF15 at the least)
If you are really set on using the strips then not more than a couple times a year and try to gently push out the occasional ones with your fingers (NOT your nails) or an extractor.
Biore has some really nice ones and on how to use them, make sure you get your face really wet, and dont take them off early also wash your face after use
biore... it's very effective.... juz follow the instructions.. paste it on your nose, wet with water, wait for ten minutes and PEEL

Your mom is absolutly right. I woudl really NOT use foundation. It will only mess up your skin. Now and in the long run. Most foundations clog pores and cause break outs which can result in dicoloration of the skin and scarring. It can also send the oil productors of your skin into over drive. How to use a detergent free deep pore cleanser?
Last summer I had an allergic reaction with a scrub [St Ives apricot] and now my face is a mess! I am using this detergent free deep pore cleanser. I would suggest trying the Proactiv system. I have been using it for over a year and a half and my skin looks about 75% better. Also, make sure the products you use on your skin (makeup, moisturizer, etc.) are oil free and non-comedogenic. Unfortunately you cannot change your pore size; however, you can make your pores less visible through microdermabrasion. You can get this procedure done at a medical spa or you can purchase a microdermabrasion product (such as Neutrogena) at the drug store. Good luck.

I know this sounds random.. but if you are going to the beach anytime soon, saltwater from the ocean will fix all of the for you! For some reason, it gets rid of blackheads and makes your pores smaller.
Also, if you wash your face in warm/hot water, then rinse with cool/cold water, this will minimize both. The hot water opens up your pores, letting the soap clean out your skin better, and the cold water closes up your pores and makes them smaller

i have these black/brown dots on my legs and thighs and i've always had them i think but now they appear to be growing.

I have had pimples since the 6th grade. I've used many products to treat pimples such as clearsil, proactive, neutragena and so on. Many of the products i've used havn't worked very well. #5 Neutragena Oil-free Anti acne moisturizer (only if you need it.)
Do this morning and night. Always use oil-free, non-comedogenic makeup as well.
If your acne is not cystic, this you should be fine. If you have cystic acne then you will need to go to the dermatologist and have him put you on Accutane. There is no need for teenagers have permanent scarring when this great product is available.
Accutane is the ONLY cure. It actually strips the pores internally stopping the excessive oil production.
I put all three of my kids on Accutane the minute they started breaking out. I did not want them to have the scars on their faces like I STILL have on my face from cystic acne.
You will still need to use the cleaning regime after completing Accutane.

I've never had open pores in face and recently I got a lot of zits in my face and they tend to go away pretty fast. But recently I got 2 zits on my cheek and I never popped them or anything and just waited till they were gone. now I have three open pores where I had the zits and it looks horrible! Plain tomato juice can be applied for about 15-20 minutes.

You need lemon juice and orange juice. Mix the two juices together and apply all over your face in an upward and outward motion. Wash off after 10 minutes.
Large Pores: Ice
If you feel your pores are too large, every morning before you put on your make up rub an ice cube all over your face then clean and dry your face. Your face should now look and feel tighter, and then when you apply your powder or foundation, it will look smoother.Can open pores in your face go away? =(?

I didn't realize I had it stuck to my nose, when I pulled it away it took the blackheads with it. I went to the bathroom mirror and tried it around my whole nose and I haven't had a blackhead since. Kind of a weird solution but it works, trust me. All of my friends have tried it also with the same results. Hope this helps.

The Biore strips work well too, but the trick is to pull them off slowly!

Then, before applying get all hair out of your face. Then spread the mask all over your face, avoid your eyes! Leave on for about 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Pat dry with towel. Enjoy your new look!

try products with peppermint. peppermint helps to open your pores and allows them to br clensed from the inside. This means your pores will be smaller giving you a more clean youthful appearance.
